BRIDAL SHOWERS
A Saturday in May. The Garden House at Kent Island Resort is set for brunch; long table, white linens, peonies cut from the gardens that morning, the doors open onto Thompson Creek. The biggest decision with any milestone celebration is the room.
For full-family, full-friend-group events like Sweet 16s, Quinceañeras, Mitzvahs, 50th birthdays that turn into reunions, and retirements with the entire office invited, the Farmstead and the Pavilion both hold up to 300 guests. Each has its own dedicated kitchen, full event coordination, and the kind of square footage the day actually needs. The Farmstead leans rustic. Farm tables, string lights, sweeping views of the working farmland. The Pavilion is more flexible, tailorable to anything from a formal seated dinner to a full reception with a dance floor.
For mid-sized milestones like 40ths and 50ths drawing a wider circle, retirement parties, anniversary celebrations the family wants to do right, the Garden House holds up to 75 guests with waterfront views, and works for both seated dinners and stations-style receptions.
For the more intimate milestones like a 60th with just family, a quiet 70th, a small Sweet 16 with the closest twenty, 18TWENTY’s dining room (capacity 30) and the Chicken Coop (capacity 20) are both beautifully appointed indoor spaces. For ten close family members or friends, Pennyworth inside the Manor House is the most personal option.
For Sweet 16s, Quinceañeras, and Mitzvahs in particular, the events team works with families to honor religious customs, cultural traditions, and family recipes from the very first planning conversation. Farmstead Bridal Suite — An intimate private space within the Farmstead, designed for getting ready, pre-event breakouts, or small private moments before the main celebration. Capacity for 10 to 15 guests.
The Pavilion — A flexible venue with capacity for up to 300 guests, tailorable from a sit-down dinner to a full reception with dancing.
Garden House — Overlooking Thompson Creek, with waterfront views and gardens framing the space. Capacity for up to 75 guests, and the favorite for mid-sized brunches, lunches, and afternoon teas.
18TWENTY — The estate’s farm-to-table restaurant, with two private event spaces. The sunroom seats 20 in a bright, naturally lit setting. The dining room seats 30 for more formal dinners. Menus are drawn from the same kitchen that serves the restaurant, featuring grass-fed beef and Chesapeake-inspired seafood.
Chicken Coop — A cozy, naturally lit meeting space with comfortable seating, suited to focused gatherings and small corporate or celebratory events. Capacity for up to 20 guests.
Pennyworth — Named after Pennyworth Farm, an intimate dining space inside the Manor House for breakout meetings or close, beautifully appointed private dinners. Capacity for up to 10 guests.
